Maybe a stupid ?, but what makes the difference in the 10hp between 86-87 TR's?

no difference.....had to do with GM policy that dictated the Corvette shall have the most HP....... the 'vette had 240 in '86 and '245 in '87, so the GN had to do the same
 
Yep, I believe that's part of the reason... We recently had a thread going that discussed this issue, but I'll be darned if I can remember it's title or the final outcome.

It is funny however, that even rated at 245, they were at least 20hp under rated. It was amusing at how much friction and turmoil resulted within the ranks of GM, when this full size $17,000 sedan was kicking the crap out of their high dollar flagship sports car.
It just shows that no matter where you go, there's politics involved...!:rolleyes:
 
I believe that was the main cause of the one year earlier demise of the Regals, in comparison to the other G-bodies.

Also, the GNX was the last straw that broke the camels back, and GM executives decided to pull the plug on the G-body Regal, so that Buick can return to it's "older" customer base.
 
You know what is really cool? These cars are getting 16 plus years old and we are still kicking the donkey out of most cars!!!
