Maybe a stupid idea but....

has anyone ever thought of putting those tb coolant lines that we block off to good use? I was wondering... what if i were to take some copper hose, wrap it tightly around the turbo, then plug the 2 ends into the old tb coolant ports? would there be any significant gains or losses?

Granted it might help cool the turbo a little, it would also superheat the coolant, and raise operating temps. alot, and I dont think the copper would hold up under that kind of heat.

ok, what if we ran a trans cooler between the outlet of the turbo cooling line and the return to the core? ok, i guess it's a lot more hassle than i thought...

wouldn't you get more out of this by filling your windshield washer bottle w/ ice and water and running the lines through the T/B w/a small pump to further cool the air charge?

I take it you mean wrapping the compressor housing?
If you mean the center section,you can get watercooled center sections for out cars.
Here's an idea that I was playing around with a while back;make a shroud for the compressor housing and duct cold air from a front dam duct to the shroud to cool the housing.
You can make improvements to the inlet and outlet temps in the piping by wrapping the upo pipe and the IC piping with thermal insulation tape[yes it's been done by myself as well as others].Helps to keep radiator heat out of the piping,great on the street.
A cold air kit for the air inlet helps the turbo compress air more efficiently because it starts out with denser air.
You're thinking though and that's a good thing.
