The core is taller (verify) than both the RJC and Cottons = increased core flow. It is a piece you would use for 600HP to ??? HP. Flow-wise, it is more capable than most all FMICs in the effective range. The cooling flow through the cooler is acheived better than a FMIC since the shroud is absolutely enormous with baffling to redirect for added flow at the top of the IC. Even with a larger FMIC, there is cutoff flow from the bumper and a shroud on a FMIC doesn't become as effective at "saving" the blocked area. You also minimize tubing distance with the mpe, decreasing dead volume which aids spool.
If I had room, I would have run one. Instead we just built an even larger FMIC. Either way, the mpe unit is a monster. DGC, you havent posted a turbo size or anything, but as an assumption, I would say either unit would be too large at the moment. But then again, it is always better to plan for the future as no one ever gets slower.
This should be put in a museum, doesn't look like he'll be making many more of these things in the future unless on a special basis.
