Mechanical fan stud removal

I'm removing the factory mechanical Clutch fan and the studs that go into the water pump now have the little spacing in between the threads of the stud exposed more so the nuts won't go far enough to tighten up the pulley what r u guys using to fill in the small gap ? Will washers work? Or do u guys replace the 4 studs completely with something else ? Thanx for any input or suggestions

You could use short bolts, maybe even some nice allen head ones, or just use the nuts with a thick lock washer.

I used 2 washers on mine, one flat and one lock. Probably could have got away with just one, but it worked.

Thanx for all ur responses will look into small bolts or really thick washers as I have about 1/4 inch to fill on the stud before the nut

Anyone know what size the studs are? Are they 5/16x24 or are they M8x1.0?
