he played the same thing over and over again. dont get me wrong, i really love maiden, all of it...well everything from the ****inson and di'anno eras. but most of the songs were the same chord progressions set in different keys. they were a really good band, but i dont feel that there music was that whacked. see pantera is a band that maintains good album sales and a very hardcore following, without any major media exposure. and they are absolute animals musicianship wise. theyre one of the craziest mainstream thrash bands, and theyre still huge.Originally posted by 89SandBagger

Agreed, and Iron Maiden can be compared to Metallica. Personally I feel that Maiden is much better than Metallica musically but both have some great music.Originally posted by orion681
yea, rush has nothing to do with metallica, different bird alltogether. you cant compare pink floyd to black sabbath(except for maybe the drug use), and you certainly cant compare phish to cannibal corpse, so you probably shouldnt compare metallica to rush. neil peart would crush lars, but they appeal to a totally different genre.
Well said, If you don't own everything Metallica did from And justice for all and back to the way early days then your lost forever!Originally posted by csierra
And Justice For All was their last really good album. Black is when they started becoming more mainstream and shorter songs. I enjoy the longer material gives you more time to rock out and really get into the music.
