Just wondering what I would need to mod or replace in order to crack off a 10.50. Is it even possible on a single pump? Maybe a new 400+lph?

It's possible with a single, but not a stock one.

I had a hot wired Red's single, billet adjustable FPR and a volt booster and ran those times with 60lb injectors on on the stock rails and alky.

I just got 80 lb'ers and new valve springs but it's too hot to test-n-tune in Phoenix right now. I prolly won't see any difference except at the at the shift points and very top end.

Too much fuel is far better than the alternative.

I'm on the ragged edge of my fuel system. It's my next upgrade, FOR SURE.

Then again, there is all that safety stuff, a roll bar and the likes....... gotta look at the pros and cons..... It is a street car, after all......

However, Fueling might not be the only thing you want look at here, but , since you asked the question, I'm sure you already know as much. ;)

I was thinking a 400+lph pump with a sending unit with AN fittings replacing the rubber lines with braided lines removing the Saginaw fittings and a dual feed rail(don't remember how I acquired it but might as well use it.) Just not sure ice the to k lines will handle it. I do eventually plan to go braided front to back.

Oh yeah,

I just thought I would mention.....

If you're thinking you will be able to just "crack off" 10 second passes...... you had better be willing to bring your wallet along for the ride..... seriously.

It's not nearly as easy or cheap as you might think, even if it is a TR and you think you know them.

I'm jus' sayin'. o_O

I mean it when I say "Good luck to you, sir!"

I'll be looking forward to reading the posts that say "I did it!!!!!"

I'm not afraid to say that I paid for all of the knowledge, but in my world, it was the only viable option.

I'm old, work too many hours, and stress about just about everything but my TR.

The reason I don't stress about my TR it's a Lou Czarnota built car.

Thank you Lou Czarnota - Builder, Mentor and Great Friend

In addition I owe a HUGE thank you to Nick Micale - Road Trip Companion, 2nd Mentor, and my local "All Around Great Go To Guy"!!!

With these two guys helping me and my street car, well, I'll just say it now...

"If you wanna go, I'll see you when you get there, we'll shake hands after."

Honestly.

I'm also now JUST realizing I stepped into an E85 thread............

Hey Everybody!

SORRY!!!!!

Now that's funny right there!!! Don't care who you are ;)
I have seen guys on 93 and alky or race fuel (of course) but I'm not sure a single will flow the amount needed for E-85 and a 10.50 pass...even with a volt booster.

I'm two steps ahead of you on the motor and trans. They are both capable of handling much faster. Forged crank, scat rods, wiseco pistons, champion port and polished heads, 206/212 roller cam, 6262dbb turbo, 3000 stall 9.5 lu, EA built trans, etc etc. Now just need to work on the fuel system.

I just want to point out that there are 3 major areas to consider when upgrading your fuel system, and ALL must be addressed when the HP level is increased.

First, the plumbing, lines, fuel rail, etc, must be sized and capable of delivering a sufficient amount of fuel for the desired power level.

Second, the pump should be reliable and capable of delivering more fuel than just enough for the given power level.

Third, the entire electrical circuit has to supply constant, ADEQUATE voltage to the pump. Not only is a hot wire kit necessary, the ground wire and connectors must also be able to pass the same amount of supply voltage back to the battery for proper and reliable pump operation.

These items can be debated, but we are seeing more and more engine damage due to lack of attention to even one of these areas, and this is what I have experienced for over 20 years.

It is sad to see a new owner just install an alky kit as another power adder, and have serious damage because the fuel system was not capable of delivering the gasoline needed for the higher HP output.

Thank you sir! Your WE4 is one of my fav out there, if was not for Prasad leaning torwards GN so much would be my next choice.
