Missing 2nd gear

Everytime I manually shift and I'am in first and go to shift to 2nd I always skip into third and it's driving me nuts. I can't afford a new shifter at this moment I was wondering if there is a fix for the stock shifter to make it lock into gear? Thanks

if its jumping that hard might want to try a new cable ..

it should shift up easy enough you dont need that much pressure on the shifter.

It's not that it's jumping its when I go to shift into second it just skips right past it and goes to third I can down shift into second fine. I'am just trying to save some money so I don't have to bye a new shifter. Mabye a new shifter cable will help to I believe it's the stocjk cable. Thanks

yeah if its binding some them releases it can jump like that.

forget the parts stores you'll get the wrong cable go to dealer


bes if you know someone that can get them wholesale i think mine was like 30 something

Thanks red when I get my nitrous system finished up I'am going to call bruce up for a shift kit and canverter and mess with the cable when I get to that point. Thanks for the help.
