Apparently when my GN was wrecked in it's former life, the trunk was replaced. The RPO tag is missing. Where would I be able to locate what options my car originally came with and get a reproduction trunk tag?

you might want to look for the build sheet. i think it is located behind one of the i/s door panels or maybe behind the rear seat .

Do you just want another tag or do you want to know what options your car came with?

Could you look at the window sticker to find out? Sometimes they list options.

another tag

The VIN doesn't give any clues only that it was a Turbo- right? I guess another tag would be fine.

VIN is useless for options. It can, however, be used for getting an accurate reproduction window sticker that might have options. I got on for my GN and I can check it tonight to see if it lists options like G80 - positraction...etc...if you would like.

I have no idea where to get a reproduction trunk sticker

I guess you missed this thread: http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/sh...epair/202180-decals-our-cars.html#post1444827

Somewhere on there you can order a label if you know what information is on it. VIN wont tell you anything usefull. Look at the cowl tag and it will tell you the exterior and interior color, seat option and roof option. I could probally supply you with a copy from an existing car and all you would have to do is add or subtract the info you want on it. If it is not a GN post the info from the cowl tag(or PM me) and I'll see if I have anything close to scan for you. Also give me a list of what options you have on it. Look over at Turbo Regal Web Site if you aren't sure.

This may also be of interest, I quote from an email:

Hi Tom,
we have an ordering process for GM Vehicle Invoices, info is below. As for window stickers, GM doesn't reproduce window stickers.
Some people have gotten their invoices and then took the info and had a window sticker reproduced through other companies i.e. carfax.com.
Please feel free to contact me for any questions.

I checked my reproduction window sticker and it lists the options with codes that came with my car.

I gave that company my VIN and some information about the dealership that sold the car and they gave me back a perfect reproduction of my original sticker.

I compared it to my original sticker and they match, the new one is just show-worthy.

Might go that route to get all the relevant info but it still won't give you an RPO sticker :(

I had the same problem, got the build info from GM of Canada (real nice package) and I'm having the service tag reproduced.

pardon the hijack...

I compared it to my original sticker and they match, the new one is just show-worthy.

Hey Bill. Some questions about your reproduction. Did you use these guys: Window Sticker Reproductions for Corvette Chevrolet Dodge Oldsmobile Plymouth Pontiac Buick And also, does your GN have the dual outside remote mirror option, RPO D68? If it does, how is it shown on the reproduction sticker (and your original)? At the top as a standard item or down below as a $30 option? The late build cars like mine should have that option listed at the top and not below as a $30 option. I've got scans of some late build cars and its at the top only. But someone on here used these guys for a reproduction and D68 shows below. I'm going to have them make me one or two over the winter so I want to make sure it will be done correctly.

David

David, I did go with them for the reproduction. Alas, I have a poor-man's GN and do not have the dual remote mirrors.

Sorry I can't help.

Heres a copy of a late build. Notice the VIN. Sounds like D68 was standard equipment.

I know of a wedsite where the individual can remake any sticker. PM me if anyone is interested and I will post it here. He is remaking my 85GN vacuum line sticker. Brad

Kind of on the same lines of Brad I put the emission label from a 86 Park Ave on my GN. It shows the vacuum line routing of a vacuum brake booster on it. Its almost identical the the IC TR one. The only thing missing is the wastegate vacuum line. I wonder if there is any interest in having a new label printed showing a line for the vacuum booster?
