Shell Rotella T Synthetic 5w-40 and non-synthetic 15w-40 oil have more % of additives than other oils , (Zinc and Phosp.)
Rotella T doesn't have the ILSAC rating, which reduced the amount of anti-wear additives like Zinc a few years back :)
Actually made my engine run quieter  I run 5w-40 synthetic.....

I have had my car for 10 years and like the previous owners I have used only Mobile 1. The motor has never been opened except for a timing chain and rear main seal. At that time I checked the bearings and they looked great. The car has 135,000 miles on the clock and over 350 drag strip passes on it. Maybe luck but I like to think the oil played a major part in the success. I use 15-50 and do experience some oil leaks that I probably wouldn't with regular oil but to me it is worth it.

-1/4 million miles
-beating the hell out of it
-for years before learning to tune these things = KNOCKING BIG TIME
-Used the cheapest stuff on sale at the discount parts place, oil + filter about every 5,000 miles

My experience says the KR works very good and the type of oil makes about no difference. Rebuild - because I had another car and could afford to get all the good parts.

-Tuned for no knock
-Full synthetic
-bearings dead at 15,000 miles (wiped cam)
