MORE ignition troubles!

So for several months now my car has been missing really bad(so bad that I couldnt boost at all and if I did manage to boost, it would blow off the missing was sooo bad) until I replaced my plugs a month ago. I was then able to boost w/ some missing but it would still die at intersections and would even miss at cruise, not just accel. Replacing my wires did nothing. It got a little worse after a week so I ordered a coil pack after reading that prolonged exposure to bad plugs/wires will fry a pack. I installed it today. It no longer idles bad(or dies) and the crusing miss has been signifigantly reduced, but not eliminated. The accel is WORSE than before, infact I can barely take off it is so bad when I first start off and ofcourse power braking it makes it go insane w/ missing. I'm thinging maybe the plug wires, but would they go bad because of a bad coil pack after 2 weeks? I've heard that if the module is bad it won't work at all, is that true? I can't afford a $200 module right now so I really hope that's not it, but I have to get this fixed because it's my daily(and only) driver and I can barely drive it.

oh yeah, and if this makes any difference, I use AC Delco R43TS(I'm pretty sure that's the order o the #s and letters), bosch wires(because I dont want pricey red/grey MSDs and they appear to have lasted atleast 2 years so they can't be that bad) and GM coil pack from Kirban's.

it is most likely the module, and yes the car will run with a bad module, it just seems the car is running on 4 or 5 cylinders. i have a few known good type ii modules and coils which i like better than stock and they seem to be more durable...

It may not be your ignition at all. You have a stock MAF? My car did very similar things when my MAF went south on me. Under light throttle the car would run just fine....get into load and pop pop pop. Just another thing to keep in mind if the module doesn't clear it up.

I agree--sounds like a MAF--mine did exactly as described when it went bad.

You didn't mention whether your check engine light is on.

If so what codes are being thrown?

I have only seen the check engine code twice..and it was code 42(that was before I replaced the coil pack). I have tapped on the maf and it didnt affect it. Every once and a while it will flash for a few seconds code 13? the one dealing w/ O2 readings. Believe me, I know what it is like when a maf dies, this is my second one, my first one went out soo bad that I could barely hold 30 going up hill while belowing smoke! I am going to try to get ahold of someone around Amarillo and see if I can try one of thier maf/module and see what clears it up. Thanks for the help.

FWIW, there's more then one way for a MAF to fail, and they don't quite act the same in all the different failure modes.
