It's time for a new rear main seal. While under there, should there be any consideration about the stock motor mounts? Mine are stockers.

I remember putting solids in a car a while back. Not sure if I want to go that route here.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I recently put in the HR PartsNStuff poly motor mounts along with their transmission poly mount. They made a significant difference.

I put stockers back in since I had just put in a new stock rubber trans mount and I read you shouldn't mix the poly and rubber. I added a RJC motor brace to help out the driver side mount a little bit. Cheap but effective. BTW, I see you have poly body mounts in your sig. How do you like them? How's the ride quality? I have Energy Suspension body mounts on the way myself.

I have the poly body mounts too. The motor mounts made a much bigger impact. I installed them after my RJC brace bent during a run.

I've never read that you shouldn't mix them. I was thinking the hot ticket if you just have to have poly was to run a stock PS and a poly DS mount.

I love my poly bushings. I've got prothane body and energy suspensions suspension bushings. It's nice to make the car feel more like a block than a flimsy pillow.

I read that rubber motor mounts with a poly trans mount was a BAD combo. Now Poly on the driver side and rubber on the passenger side is a different story. As far as the poly body mounts, I'm not sure I want my car ride like a 'block', but I do want a more 'direct' feel to the car. If the poly is too rough, I'll mix in some rubber upper cushions at positions #2,3,4 and 5. The energy suspension rep assured me that the 70a durometer body mounts are pretty soft though.

Thanks for everyones advice. I talked to the lady at HR Parts and ordered a set. Apparently they don't have a lot on hand at the moment,so it will take about 2 weeks.

Not to hijack my own thread...but in reading about what you guys wrote about poly body cushions,I have the complete Energy set and installed them a few years ago.

I noticed that the car stiffened up just a little to probably how it felt new. Some of my stockers were split. I'm glad I installed them. They are red, which looks a little funky, but oh well. No regrets.

The absolute WORSE ride "upgrade" I did was to install Bilstein shocks on the front. After slamming over NY state bumps for over a year,I took them off and replaced them with KYB's. I didn't like how my cars front end was slamming bumps and shaking everything.

Those Bilsteins were so stiff,I had to use a JACK to compress them up to the lower control arm to get the bolts in! On the drivers side, the nut clips actually stripped out. I don't even think they were shocks. They were more like a steel rod. Maybe I got jipped!

No Bilsteins for me again. Maybe if the roads were super smooth.

Kybs in ny...... I had them in nyc and they blew fast I we nt w edelbrock on my old gn and it was ggod..
