Ok, I want everyone to please type in what kind of mufflers your using on your GN, I'll then try to choose one for mine.:D

Thanks

chime in

Have been using the 2 1/2 ATR aluminum pit bulls, straight through design and had a few compliments on the sound at WOT, but considering the stainless ones to quiet her down a lil'.:D

Ultraflow stainless duals on salvageV6 at 2.5".

ATR Pitbull stainless Crossflow 3" on the GN.

Both sound good but different. :)

Magnaflows!!! Nice smooth tone and they look pretty as they are polished stainless. After installing them, the guy at the muffler shop said, "I'd be pissed if I paid that much for mufflers and my car sounded as weak as that." I'm sure his opinion changed when I smoked 'em the length of his parking lot :D

3" ATR Pitbull on a single shot exhaust. Dynomax bullet muffler in place of the test pipe.

for the money this is simply the best muffler you can buy. its been a while but they outflow just about everything. no reason why i would put any thing less on any car i ever own!
i think i paid 39 bucks for each 4 years ago!

long live the Race magnum!

new Pitbulls

I have a pair of new 3" Pitbulls on ebay currently, they are nice.

Update on servey so far;) Dynomax Race Magnums have 5 votes, Pit Bulls have 5 votes, Magnaflows have 1, And Dynomax Ultraflows have 1. Keep Um coming.

Thank's:D

i think that ultra flows and the race magnums are the same. one is just stainless or polished or some other jazz but the inner workings are the same. correct me if i am wrong

3" ATR Pit Bulls duals. They are loud at 55 MPH but i like the sound of them better than my radio and who goes 55 MPH anyway.

I too bought the nice, but economical Hooker 2.5" cat back system, with their Aerochamber muffs. I already had the Hooker headers, which act kind of like longtubes on a V8.
The whole system has a unique, nice, crisp sound. Not loud under cruising speeds, but sounds mean when you stand on the pedal.
It certainly doesn't have the throaty rumble of my previous 3" FlowMasters (bad choice for turbo car), but, the Hooker system performs better, per their angled/straight-flow muffler design.

I personally hate the sound of a single-shot 3". Although it performs well, it's "blatty", and way too loud for cruising.
I've heard great things about the Dynomax Ultra Flows. They're a true race muffler w/ straight thru flow, but have a nice rumble. A little loud, but a good choice.

In the end, you need to determine your personal goals and tolerance for sound. If you don't plan on riding on the highway at 2400 rpms, then any of the systems mentioned are good, however, if you want to avoid the resonating drone, you may want to shy away from some of them. For me, the Hooker system was the best bang for the buck, and met my needs/goals. If I need to run full-out, I just open the electric dump...

Hooker dual 2.5" exhaust with their Aerochamber mufflers. Ditto on the electric exhaust cutout.:D

Tried a single shot 3" and took it off the car as the drone was too much to take. Wife wouldn't even ride in the car with it on. (hmm, maybe that is a good thing?;) )
