go with a turbo muffler. preferably dynomax ultra flow or pypes race pro muffler. anything without a chamber will suffice

my car must be weird, but it gained boost and had faster spool up after i put a Flowmaster replacement crossflow muffler where the stock muffler was. when i got the car, the stock muffler was blown apart, so i just cut it out and ran it with open pipes for a few months. the Flowmaster muffler actually did better than the open pipes. but it's too quiet for my tastes so i might just run straight pipes again some day.

my 87 used to have the exact same Flomaster system.
After I removed it and installed the Hooker 2.5" system,I gained major boost and spool up time.Had to re-adjust the wastegate
to get the boost back to 17 lbs.

I had Flowmasters on my TR when I got it. It actually didn't sound bad at all. However a turbo engine prefers the least amount of back pressure possible to function. Therefore since Flowmasters IMO were designed to be used on a low performance engine that you want to "sound good", they're out.

My choice was something that was essentially a straight pipe but quieter, a.k.a. a straight thru muffler. I ended up going with a Dynomax Ultraflow. You can look in one end and see out the other. Not only does it perform better than the Flowmasters but also I've gotten some good compliments.

thanks for your imput guys one more question are these cars loud if you run straight pipes with a performance cat or for that matter no cat or dose the turbo being on the exhaust muffle a lot of the exhaust noise? im not looking to make it rilly loud just want more of a rumble i know with my superchaged regal straight pipes on it wernt that loud at all and when i put a flowmaster on it it didnt rilly change a thing..are the gns the same way?

seemes like cherry bomb is a good choice they have some pretty good mufflers it seems
