Funny, he pedaled it once, then it comes up again, he must have thought, screw it, stay in and win.

There's a live feed of the race at
Drag coverage.com lights out seven.

I really wanted to go down to this but could not get the time from work.
Next year.

Yeah some some pretty big nuts for sure to ride across the finish line with front wheels 2 feet in the air at 160 + mph.

Nice!

But looks like someone has a death wish, sooner or later luck runs out.

That's balls right there!

About 10 years ago here in Orlando at the world street national a guy from (Alabama I think) with a Chevy II did the same thing at the end of the 1/4 in the finals. Afterwards I found him in the pits and him ask him how something like that feels.....his reply was that "you do feel the car start to rise but you really don't have time to get uncomfortable because it happens so fast".

He also said that he only runs the 1/8 at home (just changed gear sets) and was still trying to get use to the 1/4 speeds.

Just found the car.....can't remember his name but he was a very personable down to earth guy.

badass looking car, nothing sexier than a car with a big blower on it. Maybe one day....

I spoke with him at length and If I remember correctly he had just picked up sponsorship from the glass company who has their wrap on the entire car. He certainly had the personality to go far in the sport. The pit crew consisted of him, his wife and the guy who either owned or was the sponsor of the car.
What has really stuck with me after all of these years is that he had just made the run on the back tires through the traps and was taking time to answer my questions while he was setting the valve lash on the car.....like I said.... just a nice guy.

Murder Nova wasn't the only one, several did big wheelies at 1/2 track when we were there sat. Not quite that high but no pedaling lol. It looked like the leaf spring class were hooking better than the rest.
