Took the car out for a little cruise. Shifts from 1st to 2nd nice. Then going from 2nd to 3rd it seems to hesitate some. This is while normal driving you can hear the RPM's get up there and if i bring my foot off the accelerator it will shift. I do not hear the car going into 4th. Is 4th considered the overdrive gear? While driving about 50 and switching my shifter from overdrive to drive i do not feel a difference. Rpm's remain the same.

I checked the fluid when i got home. It is good on the dipstick. It is about 38 degrees outside today and sunny. So there whould not be an overheating situation. Plus it does it right out of the garage when the car is cold.

blow compressed air into the fourth tap while in 4th at 60 mph on the lift.if it shifts its the shift valve if not the clutch is toast or piston damaged.

Well, my ill trans turned out to be not so ill. It ended up being the detent/TV cable adjustment way out of wack. Went up to visit Bruce at Aggressive auto. He adjusted the cable we went for a test drive and 3rd was shifting nice and 4th gear kicks in at 55 mph. Ended up being a nice day for me. :)
