If Shurflo is fine with flammable liquids they need to remove the sticker saying not to use it. You know most of us use straight alky so the 50/50 water alky excuse don't cut it.

In your kit photo I counted 8 crimp on splice connectors and 4 crimp on spade terminals...that adds up to 20 crimps to me...........
The SMC kit has 4 terminals to crimp on the harness after it comes into the car. (4 crimps vs 20, or am I counting wrong?)

As for my progressive...you state it's not designed for drag launches????

Wrong. You can adjust the beginning spray point from 7 psi to as high as 12 psi.....I guess you're launching at 12 plus psi now?
I can adjust both that start point AND the max pump speed, yet you say I have no adjustability??

As for the standard controller....We have never had a failure of the mechanical pressure switch inside....why must you pick on this??? It's tried and true in over 1,000 systems! As for the Mosfets......obviously you haven't been inside a newer controller....they are well heat sunk and work perfectly! There is also a serious filter capacitor on the circuit. Sounds like you did plenty of studying on our controller before coming out with yours.......As I said before....either of our controllers are rock solid. As for the spray on lite comment...the line pressure switch is ADJUSTABLE. you can have the lite come on at 10 psi if you want.

I don't sell water injection. The pump will be fine if it it used with alcohol as it is designed for. Water=Rust.

Ther is nothing wrong with pipe fittings.......you're really stretching here! Geez, you use it on you're nozzle connection and filter connections!

You never give my kit a potshot? PLEASE! Every time anyone has any questions or repair issues with the SMC kit, you are there plugging your setup or getting in a jab on SMC. I'm not on the forum every day....I'm too busy building kits to be on it every day. But I do respond to any calls or emails as soon as possible and do my best to help people..

And I haven't slammed your setup.....I only pointed out differences and my dislike of the Shurflo and its non-flammable rating. I challenge you to post an email from Shurflo that says they are fine with you running pure alcohol in their pump. I really like your progressive controller....It does have more range than mine....but they both are very effective.

I won't argue anymore......Each kit is good and has pluses/minuses. You do good work and I like to think I do too. There's room enough for everybody. Can I buy you dinner at the Nats?

Last post as well

Whats really funny is I have the catalogs from Shurflo. No where in the catalog does it mention not to be used with flammable liquids. Yet on the pumps, there is the small sticker. I guess its like the off-road use only stickers we put on boxes. I will admit, that these pumps are not designed to be used with oil's or gasoline due to the materials used in them. Hence why lubes like oils cannot/shouldnt be used. And it maybe the intent of the decal is to not use it with diesel, oil, gasoline, tranny fluid, etc.. much easier to say..flammable liquids. They do offer pumps that are gasoline/oil compatible.. obviously they are one of the largest pump manufacturers in the country.

I too have found a smaller pump, but its flow capacity is less than the big brother. Funny thing, it doesnt say not to be used with flammable liquids. This is a brand new pump for 2004. So I too am playing with different ideas as well.

Glad you looked at my website :D , I supply extra connectors..for in case. I listed the connections on both kits. Not much difference. And you forgot the power connections..which add two too yours, and plugging in the connector constitutes a connection as well. So drilling holes and running wires is required in both cases.

I have never had issue with your service to your products. On the contrary, you will find tons of posts where I have given praise to your helping others out. And becuase your busy doing your thing, and my position here is to help, I will offer simple advice to help someone with their issue. If you wish, I can try and get a sticky, "If your having problems with your SMC kit, dont post here.. contact Steve for assistance". As you will notice earlier in the thread, someone asked for your web site address.. I went and posted it.

I have never had issue with you Steve, on the contrary, I had an SMC kit I started with..had some minor bugs that where remedied easily, and yes.. Its my profession to disect stuff and learn. No school for alcohol injection... just what we push to make.

Yeah man..we can have dinner at the Nats.. I hold no grudge against you. Why should I? dunno bout this SalvageV6 guy.. I guess I'll pack some extra cash..

1badTTA.. no hard feelings brother.. its not your intent.

;)

BTW Steve, heres your challenge. Find where I have taken a Pot Shot at your product. maybe you'll realize what I do here. ;)

Peace.

Geez...why do I feel like a kid on the playground who got in an argument with a friend and then regrets it? Sorry for any harsh words......this began when I got an email from someone who thought you were bashing SMC. I now understand that was not your intent. In fact I'll bet both of us might make some small changes due to our , ahem, "forum interaction"?

It wouldn't cost you much to add a couple weatherpacks to your wiring, they are so cool to work with. And I'm working on expanding the range on the progressive to 3 bar.

Wish you the best, keep up the good work. All you guys can get a good system from either Razor or SMC....enjoy the alky!!

All is well now in the land of alky!! :D now lets get drunk :D

FWIW:
I think Razor "www.alkycontrol.com" and Steve "www.smcenterprises" are both great vendors and are a big asset to our community.

Jesse :)

I'll toast to that!

I can't believe 1) this is even allowed on the forum, and 2) either vendor would stoop to the level of publicly bashing the other. Extremely poor business ethic on both parts. [ /rant off]

EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING.

I now feel like watching "terms of endearment" or "out of africa"...:D

I was kinda hoping for the duel too. Instead of denatured they could run everclear in them, that way whoever lost would probably be so drunk they didn't care! ;)
