My driveside door wont open...need some help

I was trying to install my passenger side door interior the other day, so i shut the driverside door cause i was not working on that side yet...but when i try to open it i couldnt...i tried from the inside (no luck) outside(no luck) I tried to unlock the door with the key (no Luck)...the only luck that i have with this problem is that the door panels are off so i can see every thing inside the door...so what do i look for to open this door?

Follow the rod from the back of your interior door handle to where it meets the latch. You should be able to pull the lever by hand to get the door open. Then look for whatever broke

try to pull at the latch from either rod,inside handle or outside. operate door lock at latch also
