My seat belt light has started to flash On and Off while I drive :frown: . Ive unplugged it from under the seat and it's still flashing. What should I do?

You can replace the chime module under the dash by your right knee, or just unplug it. It is a bitch to get at.

So its the chime module that's making the dash light flash intermittently?

It did on mine except I had audio also.

Mine has been coming on at random times for several years now. I unplugged the seatbelt sensor- makes no difference. It seems to be voltage sensitive, because sometimes turning on the headlights will trigger it. There is no chime, so I just ignore it. If it starts to make noises, then I'll replace the module.

Yes that's exactly what mine does, comes on at random times. I noticed if I tap the side of the dash with my right hand not hard but a tap it comes on.

I thought only my POS was doing that!.... LOL :o :p Mine goes on/off randomly when I turn on the headlights...

Someone please PM me if they find a fix for this!......

When your seat belt light flickers from time to time and the chime comes on and off out of no where it's the chime module. They are famous to go bad in the Buicks. The plug for the seatbelts on the floor behind the seats does nothing to correct this when it goes bad. The chime module is located behind the dash to the left of the radio just about behind where the rear defog switch is. It's up a little more then the defog switch but in that general area. It is a bastard to change. If you take off the panel that's under the dash (the piece that is always sagging) and lay on your back with a flash light you can just about see up there. It's about the size of a pack of smokes. You can buy the box brand new from GM..

GM PART # 25524794
PRICE: $34.18

Getting it back in is pretty easy as it clicks or snaps in. There is a plastic clip that holds it in that is hard to get off. Sometimes a long thin screwdriver helps to unclip it. When laying on your back on the floor looking up you'll be looking at the bottom of it. Flash light and screwdriver and you'll have it right out.

There are several things under the dash that are almost impossible to reach if you have normal sized hands or larger. If you have a midget friend with long skinny arms and super strength, that would solve the problem. GM must have had several working in their factorys.

Thank You Jim

A dealership will ripp you off left and right if you call or walk in the door. A Credit card and www.gmpartsdirect.com is all you'll ever need.

You can also pull the box and throw it in the trash and not put anything there. Just won't have the chime when your lights are on, door open, or key in. I changed a few.. Once it's out it's easy street
