a local TA guy and i had been setting up this race for a couple weeks now, 94 TA with 125 shot....me, TE44/FM IC and all the other goodies, both on street tires....from a stop....off the line we both spin, i pull maybe a half on him, he hits the nitrous, and by time i was in OD he was 2 lengths ahead....good kill on his part...he has never been to the track, i hopefully will be at the the shootout near atlanta this weekend so i should have new times...

With your mods you should have smoked that LT1

if you ran a 12.6 BEFORE the turbo and intercooler upgrade......

You mentioned that u were both on street tires, but my question is were u running pump gas and low boost or did u have some C16 and high boost??? If u were on pump fuel and low boost then I can understand why u got beat, but if you had race gas and boost it should of been a different story... I know a guy that has a 96 Z28 M6 with exhaust, filter, reprogramed ECM, an LT4 hot cam, and a 125 shot that runs 12.5 @113mph... With the TE44 turbo and FM intercooler you should be running low 12s to high 11s with some slicks and higher boost like 25 to 26lbs... Also is the TA an M6 or A4??? Maybe your car isn't tuned or something, but I'd get my car tuned and go kick some fbody ass:D BTW, the first rule of owning a GN is "YOU DO NOT LOSE TO FBODIES" and the second rule is "YOU DO NOT LOSE TO FBODIES";)
 
it was a total street setup for me....pump gas and 19 psi boost....it was a automatic tranny for him again pump gas....
that 12.6@106 was done with slicks and full race setup...i shall find out this weekend if im in the 11s now with new turbo/IC

i dont feel bad for getting beat...im confident without the nitrous it would have been a diff story...

Yeah I figured u were running pump gas and not much boost... With say 25lbs of boost even if he is spraying he will be seeing GN taillights... And if he isn't spraying he'll be so far behind that he can't even see your taillights:D

I would also guess that with 19 psi, you were probably getting some K.R. with that 93 octane. I have a TE-60 and f/m and my race chip was causing me over 15 degrees of knock on 93 gas. Of course the 30 degrees of timing didn't help any either. Get some gas and go kick some ass... :D
 
That 44 and front mount should easily put you in the 11's with good gas and a race chip. I'm slowly getting the bugs outta my car and it's really starting to wake up. It went 105.5 yesterday afternoon with 17#, RA93 chip, 110/93 mix, and an open d/p. Put some good gas in that sucker and go ask for a rematch. The results will be a lot different....:D :D
 
You might want to think about alcohol injection so you don't have to rely on race gas. Thank God for nitrous so those slugs can move.;)
 
John, i have alky, it just has an unopenable tank...you met me in kissimmee, i bought those center caps from ya....:)

as far as knock retard goes, it was minor, 2-4 degrees....on an 18degree chip, most cars can run 19-20 without knocking.....

he knows i have the alky kit, and knows when i get it working we will be running again....
