A little background on the problem:
The car had just been driven almost 300 miles in 2 days and ran awesome on the highway (75-80). I parked the car and later on the night of the second day go to fire the car to go cruise the town and it's running on 5 cylinders. Park the car, and go back to college in other car. @ weeks later come and try to diagnose the problem. I had just done a head gasket job and I thought that had fallen through. Nada, all cylinders are great on compression. Next thing was ignition. It was getting spark, but it would clear up momentarily, but only when it wanted to. My car has been switched to 87 coil and module, so I went to AZ to have it tested. Needless to say, it tested good. I still had my doubts. I had to go back to school. Labor day weekend, my brother's b-day, I wanted to work on the car so more. My dad reminded that he had a very low mileage GM module and coil on his 87 GN so we went to go get it. Slapped it on and the car ran as good as it could with an 02 sensor that had been totally wiped out by C116.
So if you have an intermittent miss, check your modules with known good ones to save yourself a lot of extra headache.
