Well i just got my 70-MM BB GTQ, i took it out of the box took a couple of pics and placed it back in, my son comes in and wants to see it , so i take it out and notice this, it looks like a piece of it is broken:confused: is this damaged? i do not want to have my mechanic install it and have somethimg go wrong need feedback, but i think i will be calling back the vendor in the morning, this sucks i went from one end of the spectrum to the other:frown:
should i worry? could this throw off anything? i have no idea what that white stuff is?

If you are talking about the nut. I think that is how they balance the turbo. they take some of the extra weight off of that nut to balance out the compressor wheel and the turbine wheel to reduce vibrations/noise.

that is the case

Put it on and hold on to the wheel as tight as possible. Thats a bad ass turbo

thanks for looking guys I just had my mechanic look at it, and told me the same thing brockblackz28 mention'd. WHEWWWWW now that that's over with
i'll be able to sleep better tonight :D

Like stated,That is normal,They grind it off to set the balance.
