my title's date of issue.

hay guys

looking at the original title ( i'm the second owner ) which was titled in yonkers new york the date issued reads 9-23-88 , i know i purchased the car from the original owner ( i checked nyc-dmv ) i just find it strange that it was almost a whole year before the car was purchased. does it take along time to title a car in NY? so does that mean that i have an 88 GN ? :biggrin: . is this rare or a common thing?

Could have been a dealer demo. Not uncommon to purchase a car like that. I bought a 1994 dodge truck new from the dealer in august of 95 with 26 miles on it. Some cars and trucks sit on the lot for a year or so as well. You should have the month and year your car was made on your door.

how do i find that? on the title or on the car?

It is usually on the drivers door above the latch. Some of them get painted over, removed, or just fade out. Yours may still be there.
