I'm not a n00b to car/engine building, just transmissions. I'm rebuilding my 86 442, and I will have a built Olds 403 going in w/ my KZF 2004R. Power should be around 400-450 ft. lbs., and I'm hoping to break into the 12s. I've been poking around on the site a bit, but I'm a little confused on what I'll need to make the trans live. Most here seem to be running tens or nines. I would really like to do the work myself, to save money. I plan on getting the manual from CK.

So, what do I need to survive into the 12s, and can I do this work myself?

thanks.

lots of bone stock 20 year old never opened trannys running 12's on here

the manual will give you a step by step procedure for the rebuild and the kit in the link will provide all the necessary parts.Isuggest a forward drum as well, but if your in the 12s you may or may not havean issue but there is more than a good chance of breaking it.the $449 kit. www.CKPerformance.com

Get a servo from Chris also. The KZ one is smaller than the BR one. Recalibration kit, servo, forward drum, dual feed and rebuild with alto reds in direct and you should be good to go for a long time. We are running 9's with the billet drum and a good builder assembling it.
