Can you use Water/alky inj. and N20 together? What would be better water or alky?

I have been reading this forum for awhile now and you guys have tons of awsome info. Hope you can help me out.

I have a sc'd '95 Probe GT running about 6 psi of boost with a eaton m62(off a 3800 motor) mounted to a custom manifold. This winter I am going to have the motor built up and the sc ported w/ and smaller pulley on it. I will be running about 9-10psi. I want to go with H20/ alky inj. at this point to help keep temps down.I aslo want to run a 45 shot of N20. Will the N20 and H20/alky mixture be ok.

Aquamist makes kits for the SC 3800 I believe, you may be able to fit that.

We use a water/alcohol mixture because it provides the best of both worlds, octane boost and knock suppression via cooling the combustion chamber

Dont know, I'm trying to cut back on N20:D

The best use for N20 is to spray it at low boost to spool the turbo fast. Not much point of using it on top end, when the turbo already has maxed out the cylinder pressure anyways

I don't agree that using N20 at low boost levels is the best use for nitrous. My car runs 117 MPH in the 1/4 with a 100 shot and 107 mph without it. So I'd have to say that there is a definate advantage to running it on the big end. I would not advise mixing Alky and N20.
Without re-opening the debate of the cooling effects of nitrous, I would say that there is more cooling effect in the N20 than the Alky. (just my opinion)
Alky is going to let you run lower octane gas. You want "real" high octane gas with N20. Don't compromise with nitrous or you will pay the price!! Use both..... Just not at the same time.

What is I would use water injection instead of alcohol? Would that go better with N20? I am using a M62 sc not a turbo.

The thing about N20 is that ,yes, it may initially cool better than water, but once it gets to the combustion chamber it burns 10 times hotter. If I run 10psi and a 50 shot on pump gas I will have a pile of molten aluminum.Sure I could run is on 110 race gas, but who can afford to run that on the street?

What do you think is the max psi I could EFFICIENTLY run with a m62 and alky inj?

I was getting knock with a 93/110 mix at 18 psi, 20* of timing, and a 35 shot of N2O. I decided to run the alky/water mix with it and it killed all knock. My 1/4 mph went from 105 with 20psi to 112 at 18psi and a 35 shot.

I see no harm in using both at the same time.

This is the very question I have been discussing with some people around here trying to figure this out. I was thinking that you could set the nitrous on a window switch to shut down at 2800-3000 rpm and then have the alky hooked up to a hobbs switch to kick on at about 12-14 psi. Hopefully we can get this sorted out if it will work properly or not. I have thought about this on my carb'd slug. of course it needs all it can get.

I think that this reply pretty much solves the mystery.
