do they sound better to you than the other brands? If so, then yes. If they don't, then no.

Thats all that matters, how they sound to you. Nearly all spkrs are on an even playing field reliability wise, esp the ones you mentioned. Just find the ones that you like best.

Well I just came across a pair of Nakamichi 6*9's for $87, 320 watts, we'll see how good they are

For $87 i don't think you could go wrong with Nak. They are a very reputable company that, IMO, wouldn't sell a product that might hurt their image.
