I have a basically stock 86' GN and I am very attracted to Jay's kit .I was wondering what mods would be mandatory to support this kit.I am going to do the fuel pump, chip, etc all the basics first of course but is there anything else necessary here? Is the stock turbo and injectors ok for now.Thanks.

PS-BTW Jay,is O.G.S the company your Affiliated with? I was looking at theirs a while ago and was'nt sure if they are the same kits.

I dont sell the kit or make it. I simply designed it and OGS builds it. I do handle the majority of tech support for them, though. So to answer your question, yes, OGS and Kenny Brown are the only two sources for my kit in Buickland. Outside of Buickland, Dynamic Racing sells the kits to import owners.

So, back to your question, with your mods, it should work fine. You probably wont see a lot of gains with over 21-22 PSI with the stock turbo but you can probably twiddle with the chip some to get a little more out of the combination. I would imagine that a 22 degree chip with about 22 PSI would be your sweet spot.

My Pro-Pain Kit is on Order! Can't wait to see what 24lbs of boost does to these Firestones on the street!

Jay--- I wanted to call OGC but could only find an email link. I ordered my kit Next Day shipping and when I completed the order it said 10 days! I read that you was the designer and they produce it but 10 days?

I want to play with this thing over my Christmas Break. I work for our School System as a Network Administrator and we ge tthe 2 weeks off just like the Students starting Friday.

Any help or numbers on this is appreciated.

Like I said before, I dont have anything to do with building, delivery, etc. I doubt it takes that long as Im sure he has kits ready to ship.

Delivery times

Gents,
On the order page, the "10 days" is a generic timeframe to cover orders for items that may not be in stock. Sometimes it takes up to a week to get some items like certain jackets, sublimatable ceramic products, etc. Stocked items are shipped immediately. Since the website is not synchronized with actual inventory, we can't list exact delivery times on the web site, hence the "10 day" estimate. Same with shipping charges. We don't have realtime links to UPS yet, so as the website says, the shipping charges are an estimate only. Actual shipping charges are what is finally charged to the card. If for some reason an order cannot be fulfilled immediately, the card is not charged till the order is ready to ship. In the case of your kit, it's shipping today, it should be there tomorrow (UPS red label). :D
As far as the phone # and address not being on the web page......damn, it's not on the contact us link. That link is supposed to show a full page of contact info, with phone and address, not the email popup. I gotta fix that ASAP. Nothing more annoying than being unable to locate the phone # on a web site. Sorry dewd. For reference till I get that page corrected, here it is:
(412) 655-8787 :D

Thanks Dan.....I do appreciate the input into this and look forward to doing business with you again.

There you go. Cant ask for much better than that.

Now that everythings clear on that, I guess I can jump in with this question for OGS. I'm kind of looking ahead as a $$ goal for myself on this propane kit. Will you be at Norwalk or BG 2003 with a special kit price? Thanks

We'll be at Norwalk for 2003, and we'll be able to make it all days this time around. :D Roberta and Bill host one heck of a good time! As of now I don't know the price in Norwalk.
Dan

Are there any available options with the kit?

Or planned?

(Like, a bottle blanket to control temp/PSI...
or, a cockpit mounted bottle opener...or...?)

If not, any suggested sources for potential suppliers for same?

TIA!!

:) :)

Also,

Has anyone posted some DS recordings using propane yet?

I really look forward to hearing from bruce & Dan on their findings with these systems!

Any pertinent anecdotal info from the Import users yet?

:)

We have tank heaters in stock.

We have remote bottle pressure gauges in stock.

The remote tank opening setup wouldn't be hard to add. Just require having another valve made. I'll talk to Dan about that and we'll put it on the list of things to do.

Nope.. Im going by the old addage that no news is good news. I get a lot of before sale emails and no after sale emails.

As far as DS readings, I assume you mean O2s. Propane is O2 compatible (And wideband O2 compatible) but propane's stoich is a little higher than gasoline. Overall my feeling is you can tune it the same as without propane and be in the ballpark.

I'm sure when Bruce gets his kit installed we will have enough data to make our head explode.

Info & Help Appreciated, Jay!

LOL!!

I wear a super tight football helmet when bruce "lets loose" with his data to keep my skull from splintering!

It'd be great to visit bruce in his lab...he's one fine fellow, for sure.

On behalf of the TB.com & TBS.com members,

...any chance of Santa having a 2002 Holiday End-of-Year Discount?

(Just had to ask/plead!)

TIA!!

:)

Actually there will be a 2003 price increase :)

Still Pleading...Submitted For Your Consideration

How about this marketing approach:
______________________________________________

"The first/next __ kits sold to Buick guys get a __ discount, if purchased no later than 30 December 2002."
_______________________________________________

This would help a lot of fence-sitters to make a buying decision, getting more units out there, & create a subsequent buying rush from all the positive feed-back generated.

The sooner more units are on the street, the sooner they will be flying off the shelves.

I think it's the lack of firsthand word-of-mouth that is holding back lots of people right now, & the above strategy addresses this
start-up issue directly in a targeted & decisively proactive manner.

Thank you graciously for your astute cognition on this critical
issue.

Towards your success,
I remain very faithfully,

Your humble patron,

TL

Sale?!

Is the current price $885.00 or something like that? If there were to be a sale I'd most likely jump off the fence head first. How much $$ is it going to go up?

The current price is $570.00. After the first of the year, it will be at least $599.00. It may even inch up over $600.00.

I agree that getting kits out there is the best way for these things to start selling but OGS shouldn't have to give them away for this to happen.
