need a little help

I got a friends 87 regal. The exaust is all messed up no cat for one the air pump line that goes to the cat is pintched off and the exaust is strait piped. this car is just the 231 2 bbl carb non turbo.What can we do? Is there any one that sells a dule exaust kit? if he keeps the pipe he has what do we do with the air pump system? All Other opshions would be nice. So i will listen to every ones ideas.

This kid is only 20 and loves the car it is nice to see some of the younger gen. get into the old 80's. This poor kid dont know witch end of the wrench to use so help please. I dont know what would be good myself. I myself would turn it into a v8 and dule pipe it but it is his and i cant do that. this car is only got 63,000 on it and he payed 1,400 for it. he found it in a barn.

Tell him to save his money up for an LS1 engine, then put on an Iceman crossmember so it will accommodate dual pipes.

Or you could have an exhaust shop fab up dual pipes to run directly off the manifolds. You will still want an Iceman crossmember to allow for true duals.

HE says thats fine for latter down the road but for know he will just leave it .His question (and mine to because i have never delt with the air pump system)is is it ok just to take the belt off and will that mess anything up?
