Finally convinced a friend to change to the dark side. He bought an 86 T-Type with 53,000 miles on it. He wants to run in the 11s but if I know him, I would feel safer getting him enough turbo to go high 10s. So I ask the all important question:
What turbo will meet his needs? I was thinking a TE44 but the TA49 seems to be very popular but don't think the 49 will go 11s. I know from experience, a 60 series (TE60) requires a convertor.
What about a PT51? HEard some people having problems with them.
Just want to get some opinions.
The car is stock except for a 3 inch downpipe, chip and a K&N. I already told him to get a fuel pump and regulator. The car will be mostly street driven.
By the way I'm trying to bring my dad to the dark side. I told him that his grand kids could ride in a GN but not his vette.
