ok been chasing a problem have KR above 3 volts of TPS have tried everything nothing is hitting, have not exhust leaks, and no vac leaks. have had a friend that has a very fast TR help me and he has a scan tool besides the one i have which is scanmaster. with scanmaster every thing reads ok with his scan tool which records and shows alll the same features that GM's tech 1 will read on his car it records fine shows data ok looking at the data on my car it shows that my coolant temp was
-40 and that i have code 24 and 21 and when i checked it dident and it will loose data when i try to record which tech 12 loose connection with ecm and cannot read data at times??? possible bad ecm? also i have very fat readings on me interagater and bl at any fuel settingfrom 37-45 and driving at 42 it cuts out at low speeds and will show knock with not even the half throttle could this still be cause by ecm not reading and not adjusting the fuel right? have tried all different chips for the 868's o use to have and the 009's. i am completle stumptd and out of ideas any one have any or better understanding of the info thanks in advance:)

ps i have never been able to full throttle this car so i have no clue what it has beyond half throttle!

Did you say negative 40 deg coolant temp? not good. That will make you run way fat. That would be either a bad coolant temp sensor or a bad ECM, a lot of times when the older GM ECMs go bad they give really cold ECT and IAT readings. Code 21 is TPS high, either the TPS ground is bad or the sensor is bad or the ECM is bad. Code 24 is a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) error which i would bet is a by-product of your other problems(do you have a high idle?)

runs great on bottom but all the #'s from the computer do not make since. my scan master reads them the way i would see them normal execpt for my intergater is all over the place at any fuel pressure and my block learn is like 92 never getting stready but when i put my buddys scan tool on and looked at a run he made on the way over to my house with 24 lbs of boost on a te44 and unopened with alky he had 0 KR and 128 block learn and intergater 128 so to me that would be perfect! and he has 50's now but even with his 009's he only ran 39lbs of static fuel pressure! which makes me think no haveing delt with a car this old, only the newer cars that i have a pcm that is loosing its mind! one thing i did do a while back is i took the boost actuactor off the puck and went for a run and it ran great WOT with 02's at 832 with 0KR and 0 boost! what are my chances of it being a pcm thats what has been going threw my head this whole time but i have too much against me never have working on this old of a car. please help me!! thanks

Sentences man!

What is your coolant temp?

What is your TPS doing?

well my scan tool shows everything to be right the coolant temp is right with my manual guage and my tps with key to the on position is 42 with no pedal and 4.76 wot but with my buddys tool it shows all kinds of weird numbers like -40 degrees and the 21 and 24 but i only had code 21 and thats becuase i never rest my computer from setting it?? would a computer be the way to go in this situation??

All the weird readings are probably because of a poor connection to the ALDL. Is your buddy's tool TurboLink by chance? I have seen this a few different times. I'd stay with the Scanmaster or get another known good cable for TLink and try that out.

Do you happen to know if your cam sensor is set correctly?

no i have not actically tested the cam sensor but why do you ask i thought if it was out of adjustment it would not even run and it runs great and idles great under 3 volts of tps but over that i see KR and his scan tool is ezlink not any of the laptop which i am working on getting. any one elese have any ideas or fixes that they have found thanks again i am also waiting to see if any more replys come in before i go get a computer.

The reason I wondered about your cam sensor is this. I have a friend who was getting some crazy knock retard at anything above 5 psi of boost. I set his cam sensor correctly and now he gets 0 KR all the way up to around 15 psi boost. Just my .02 worth. Good luck!

P. S. My car has knocked for years in the upper boost ranges (anywhere from 1-8 KR). I have just installed the RJC Power Plate and so far (knock on wood) I haven't knocked since.

Man why dont you just borrow your buddies ecm out of his gn. It wont take but a second, and then you would know for sure without buying one you may not need. My 02.
