Need Advice

[85 T-type]

Hi, I'm a new member and have a question. My car is an 85' T-type. When I go WOT the engine will rev to 3000 rpm and then just stop pulling. The tach is a VDO, not the factory unit. I just can't figure out what the deal is. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

could be 10.786543544278756 different things.

what does it do when it stops pulling? buck surge or anything.

do you have a real boost gaude on it ? if so what is it reading?

how many miles and does it have factory valve springs still on it?

It doesn't surge or anything, it just sits on 3000 until it shifts. I have a VDO boost gauge, and max psi is 12 psi right now. The engine is a new long block with only 8,000 miles on it.

how about your ext. system if the motor runs fine just wont turn up sounds like you got a restriction...cat converter would be prime suspect if its not been taken care of already then bang on you muffler(s) and listen for a ratle of any kind since you could have a baffle broke and blocking it up?????

The thing is, I have no cat. I have a new exhaust too. The car has an up and down idle when I first start it up. Could that have anything to do with it? I have replaced the IAC and MAF.
It has the stock ignition module too, could that have anything to do with it?
