too bad its been cleared and all that work. he should have called you out to advise of the browness:) .....listen to the wife:cool:

I like it because it different. I would leave it just like that, find a set of 15" steelies with some buick hubcaps and have a true street sleeper. Nobody would know what hit them Maybe even find a Mcdonalds coffee club sticker and throw it in the back window for S&G (JK). . I do kinda of agree, a GN should be black. But its your car. I would of loved that color on the Eldorado I had a while back.

i actually dont think it looks bad just needs a set of drag wheels and a big tire on the back...

THAT'S ****ING AWESOME! Whoever said "root beer" is absolutely right! You can almost taste it when you look at it. Wow. All you need is a good set of rims to show some contrast and it'll look even better.

Edit: Can anyone Photoshop these rims on there?

These might look good painted the same color or in black.

These might work as well.

I have to say I really Like the color - it's different
But it would need a tan interior to really make it work. Add new wheels, and that would be a Beautiful, one-of-a-kind car

Looks okay to me, then again any new brown paint job would look better than my rust brown.

I'd keep it.

I like the idea of all the clear too, I'm going with 2 gallons of plastisol on my next car.

You said house of kolor right, looks like pagen gold to me over black. Awesome stuff but a little bit go's a LONG way. My personal taste says if you had stopped with the first bit instead of him hitting it again you probley would have loved it. From the pics I bet it is awesome at night !!!!!!!!!! But yeah in the daytime I don't really care for it but like I said thats up to you man. Its YOUR car. Later Daniel Ray

For future reference...

I have painted several cars with pearl. I always get 3 or 4, 12 inch squares of sheet metal and paint the base coat on them. Then apply one coat of pearl to 1 sq, 2 coats to the second sq, 3 to the 3rd, and so on. Then you know how many coats get you your desired effect. You would only be out some material and not left with a car you are unhappy with. Paint matl's are very pricey and wasting them usually makes most people pretty mad. Some of this falls on your painter. He should have known what effect gold over black would create. What you wanted was gold metal flake in your black paint, not gold pearl.
The only save I can see is maybe two tone the car and repaint the sides and the center of the hood black and put another coat of the gold pearl on to make it more gold, not brown, and reclear. Sorta like a Turbo T paint scheme. Hot Wheels even made a gold and black GN last year. This would sorta avoid wasting the effort already put in.

Just a thought,
Coach

cool color but not on the grand national.looks good in the first pic but the second one of the side just looks like it fades from black to "root beer" brown.lol go back to black imo, but like everyone says, its ur car.
