Ok intercooler is all clean and back in no holes cracks or nothing to it. When putting it back in checked all hose's again they are good. Still the same. I'm gonna let it cool down a bit then wire the waste gate closed and take it for a lite drive down the street. Ordered a new map sensor yesterday.

You might be better off with a new boost guage. The factory ones tend to be pretty inacurate.

Can't hardly wait for this mystery to be solved. Ricky, you better not leave us hanging on this !!!!

Ok I'm at the parts store getting the map sensor. Drove the car here gonna put it on in just a sec will let you guys know if it makes a difference. Give me a moment

Ok so you gotta love when the parts store orders the wrong part and it dosent fit. Yea I'm not in the best of moods!! So I'm kinda stuck right now on what to do

That map sensor has nothing to do with the car making boost. All it does is supply the gauge with a signal. Like jerryl asked. Does it feel like 5psi? You should be able to tell without the guage if the turbo isn't spooling. Try wiring the wastegate shut. It's still early over there!!:)

Back at the house gonna let the car cool down a little bit then I'm gonna wire the wastegate closed. I think this is gonna be a good night to have a cold beer or two.

Ok wired the waste gate closed and nothing still the same even went and wired it open and nothing. Any other tricks to try or any one got a ta49 for not to much they would like to let go. I don't know what else to do.

Did the car perform the exact same with it shut and open? Did it sound the same? (turbo wise I mean) What air filter setup do you have? Is there any way you could open that up and make sure it's not restricted? If it's not the waste gate and you don't have exhaust or intake leaks then that's about that. Let us know. james

Hi just put a new air filter on this weekend and it is the stock setup. Checked it to see if anything was blocking it and could not find anything.

What about the noise and performance during the wastegate test? Any difference?

Here's the deal. If you're sure of the following then you have a bad turbo. The way you describe the turbo though I don't think that's it. I think you missed something (happens to everyone) and when you find it you'll find the problem.

1. No restrictions on the inlet side of the turbo.

2. No exhaust leaks pre-turbo.

3. Wastegate puck is sealing properly.

4. No leaks or blockages in the intercooler/piping setup.

5. No restrictions in the exhaust.

6. All you're boost sensing hardware is working.

Six is about the only thing you haven't ruled out. Do you hear the turbo spool? Does it feel like only 5 pounds of boost? Can you get a mechanical gauge and check? Usually when a turbo goes out it seizes or it scrapes the housing. Since that hasn't happened I doubt it's the turbo. Please double check some of these things and let us know.

P.S. I know this if frustrating but look on the bright side, you still get to drive your car. I'm waiting to get parts because some punk stole a bunch of stuff from me. Keep your head up, you'll get it fixed. james

I've heard nothing but good about him. I hope you get it fixed on your own though. Please let me know what happens. james
