The other day I changed my knock sensor and now I getting an error code of 15 on my Scanmaster.
My temp is showing -39 and the ats is blinking hot.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
Did a sensor go bad?
What should I do?

Thanks
Nick

Steve,

That doesn't make sense to me.
Can you give me some more info?
How do I check for an open circuit?
Where is the Coolant Temparature Sensor?
ECM? My entire computer?

Thanks
Nick

PUt a new coolant temperature sensor in it. Sensor on the front of the engine just left of the thermostat housing. Has a yellow wire and a black wire going to it.

I'll give that a try tomorrow. I was seeing for some time now my ats showing "hot" and my temp normal and I never knew why. Looks like the sensor may have went.
Thanks

The two are not related. ATS is the temperature provided by the mat sensor (picks up air temperature by the air filter).

If it is hot outside and you have an open KN fillter under the hood, it will flash hot, particularly when you are stopped. I have forgotten at what point the SM stops reporting air temp and starts flashing hot. If that sensor goes bad, it will code as well.

The CTS sensor is most likely gone, unless it came unplugged, and when it reports cold like that, the ecm will pour extra fuel to the engine trying to act like a choke. It will open run pretty badly when this happens-particularly in the summertime.

I changed the CTS and that solved part of my problem. Temp is now normal.
The ATS was still blinking hot. I was in my garage and I have a cold air kit. no reason to be blinking hot.
I believe that my MAT sensor went bad and I just ordered one from the dealer. They should have it tomorrow.
Hopefully that's my problem.
Thanks for your help. I'll keep you posted.

Steve, I was looking at the sensor locations in the gnttype.org area and I see the coolant temp sensor on the right side of thermostat housing. You said left of the housing. Which is correct? I'm curious because the sensor left of my housing does not have any wire connected to it and I have been wondering what should be connected to the sensor. Thanks!

If you are talking about the sensor to the left as viewed from the front of the car, it is the CTS for your gauge or idiot light on the dash, it should have a single green wire going to it.

Thanks for the reply. Now I need to find the wire  This was already this way when I bought it. Maybe that's why my idling is not doing to well among other things.

Where can I get a wiring diaghram or access to viewing of one so I can determine where the wire comes from?

Thanks again!
