Yesterday I went on a shopping spree. I just ordered my new TE-44 turbo from PTE yesterday and it should be done by the end of the week. I also ordered new Delphi 50 lb/hr injectors from Racetronix as well. I will also be ordering an SMC alky kit (whenever they give the go-ahead for that group purchase thing!).

Now I have a few questions. First of all how much boost can I run on the street with straight 93 octane with this new TE-44 turbo? Second, what is this turbo's sweet spot? Will I be able to run the sweet spot on the street with the alky kit? I also would like to know is this turbo going to be a direct bolt-on in replacing my stocker and do I need a new oil feed line for it? If I do I don't know where to get one.

I am also using my current adj. wastegate actuator for the new turbo. Is this ok? I need as much info about this turbo/injector combo as possible before I blow myself up! I have had the stock stuff since I have been driving the car and now I am really getting the car powerful but I don't want to harm anything. Thanks for any help.

16#

24-26#

Probably closer to 23#

Direct bolt on

no...should be fine

Have to modify the current actuator mount a bit.

If it has a 17#-18# spring in it, it is a bit strong.

Sounds very similiar to my combo---sure is a ball of fun to drive. The only mistake i made was putiing race gas in it and turning the boost up--been burnin up o2's ever since:D -----race gas is addicting.

I'm running 16-17# max on straight pump-gas with a big neck stock i/c. With the alchy you should be able to run 22-23 easily, which is getting close to the sweet spot for a TE44.....Biggest thing is start with a conservative tune and work your way up. I've run 12.96 @ 108 in street trim with my 86, so the 44 should easily take you into the 11's in race trim. I've just never leaned on my 86 very hard, mainly because it's been the daily driver and I don't want to hurt it. I think you'll be pleasantly suprised at the difference between the stocker and the 44.
