I really need some help here. I just had a block done with billet caps and wanted to know how the engine guys here measure to see what lenght timing chain they want to use with the align bored block??

Please guys I know someone knows?

No real way to measure accurately, easily (i.e., without machine shop fixtures). Put a stock chain on and see how much slack results. You can buy a .005 (? I think) shorter chain if you need it. Probably the easiest thing to do is to run a steel gear, stock style chain and use the tensioner.

We have .002, .004, .006 under and other size timing chain sets available. Generally, the .002 will work fine.
