need help installing center section

Hey guys,
Well my stock turbo has some up and down shaft movement and I got a good deal on a complete rebuilt center section that i'm going to install myself. So what's the procedure? The guy I bought it off of is really experienced and said some people have problems installing them, so I'd like to know exactly what I'm getting myself into. Also, what about porting the turbo, do i just use a dremel and go at it? I noticed the extra material that's there and ready to be taken off of the exhaust side. Let me know
