I looking for some front runners tires I like but cant seem to find any I like.I bought a set of MT sportsman and brought them home and they were ripped at the bead(brand new).I like the one I have now but they dont make them anymore and they are getting dry rotted.I need a tire that is 27-28 tall with tread width about 5-6.I would like to see pics of any you have and not sure about going to radial which I think the size I need in a radial is 205/70/15.Any info and feedback appreciated. Thanks Mike

Any pics ???I would like to see some skinny radial tires mounted on a car before I buy anything. Thanks for the info.Mike

I run a 215/70R15 radial on 15x6 Centerlines. See pics in my sig....don't know if that's the look you're after or may not be skinny enough for you.

I run a 165/15 firestone on a 15x4 telstar. It looks good but I wish it was 26inches tall. It measures out at 24 1/2 with a tape measure. Probably gonna try to sell the front wheels and tires and get some 17s or so.

I have 185/75/15 on my junk mounted on 3.5 wide wheel.

RE: Front Runners

The ones my buddy has on his car were made by Moroso . Go to their website (moroso.com) and look at part #17050, 17100, & 17600 . They look pretty good on the car and we've had them on there for a good many years.

Turbo6mike- i have a brand new set of the sportsman 27.5" front tires-never driven on. if you re interested, i ll figure out a price.

I just bought a set of those and returned them to summit because the tire was ripped all the way around the bead. What are you asking for them????Thanks Mike

To the top.I still not sure.I need to see some skinny radial pics if any one has them.I quess Im just going to have to wait till norwalk and check out some cars to find some I like.

You are better off going with a bias ply tire skinny. Radial tires while providing less rolling resistance are way more compliant and thus do not hold a shape as well as bias ply tires.

I used to run Radials on my skinnies and the tire always looked like it was low and felt like it was going to roll off the rim while driving. Bias ply tires at the same pressure deflect much less under load which is important when you have all that weight being supported on such a small tire.

My Bias ply sportsmans feel better and look much better than the radials I had on before at the same pressure. No more ridiculously bulging sidewalls or the feeling of them wanting to roll off the rim on turns.

This is probably the reason 99% of all skinnies made for drag racing are bias ply.

Do you drive your on the street alot? They do make a 4 ply but not in the size I want.Does the car feel better on the track with radials or mt sportsman?

I have the 26" 4 ply and I do drive on the street a lot

The street manners are way better than the radials that were on there before.

On the track I don't really notice any difference between them at all.

Is this true even if you're running drag radials/street radials in the back? I was always told you should never mix radial and bias ply on the same vehicle...

Right now I just have BFG Radial T/As on all four corners and the front ones (fairly skinny) do look like they're low even if they're aired up to, say, 55psi.

Thanks
