I think the reason that is said is because bias ply tires have less compliance than radial tires. On a car with 4 tires of equal size, this could through off suspension tune and make one end of the car ride rougher than the other end. It would also definitely cause an alignment issue if you ran different types of tires on each side, but since that's not the case on our cars, it's not an issue.

With the fact that we are already changing handling characteristics by putting much skinnier tires on the front than on the rear, I believe the Bias ply tires are only going to positively affect things since they make up for the deficiencies of having an excessively small radial tire trying to support a load much greater than its size is suited for.

I like the look of these tires John--is this what you're using up front? If so, do you have pics and what pressure are you running? I was very disappointed when I got my new BFGs & Weld Draglites mounted on the car and the front tires looked like they were so low on air even after being overinflated, and since these are also radials I don't want to spend the money to have the same thing happen again...

For the record, I can see overinflating the front tires a bit at the track to decrease rolling resistance but I'm not really comfortable with doing it all the time for street use. Ever since I got the new wheels & tires a few months ago I've been contemplating putting the stock wheels & tires back on for safety reasons but I figured then I'd never wear these tires out so I can get rid of them...:(

I am not using these, but this is what I would consider if I was doing this again. My junk is ghetto and uses VW Bug tires.
