This just cropped up after I had my felpro tuned to lean it out for cruising and lower rpm operation. It was fine before. Plugs look OK, new wires, new injectors, new motor, new coil pack. I hooked the laptop up thinking maybe its too lean and is missing, but the A/F is still in the 14.x to 1 range, and its closer to 13:1 down low and still missing even at idle. The only thing I can think of is that I took the weatherstrip off from across the cowl, and its been in the rain the day before this started happening. It doesn't look like it got wet around the coil pack area, but who knows.

Installed new plugs, although the old ones looked fine. Put some more pump gas in it, thought maybe too much octane for the timing I was running. Its still doing it. Seems worse after driving a few minutes.

Heres the weird part, and I'm not sure if this is good or bad: I had the car idling, and decided to pull off the spark plug boots one at a time off the coil pack, to isolate a cylinder. The first one I pulled was #6, and it shocked me when I pulled it off. I pulled it off, and the spark jumped from the top of the coil tower to one of the mounting screws for the coil! It was like over an inch long spark, and a big thick blue one! It kept arcing to the mounting screw, and didn't stop till I killed the ignition. I've never seen that before. I've always pulled plug wires off to find a miss, but I didn't think the spark could jump that far!

Did you try adding some fuel? I have an ME16 and my cars hates a lean cruise. That same lean cause causes my car to stumble off idle as well. Why? Beats me, but it happens.

Not saying that's your problem, but it's free.
