I'm going this weekend to look at a fresh built tranny done by Janis transmission in Akron, Ohio. It is a mild built tranny with a billet servo
and a few upgrades that go into a stock rebuild that's done by Janis.

My concern with this tranny is it has been sitting in the guys garage since the rebuild aprox. 2 years ago. It's still wrapped in the plastic from when it was brought home. There is no fluid that was put in the tranny so my concern is condensation and moisture over this period of time. How concerned should i be  What are some of the things that can happen under these conditions, and did leaving the plastic on the tranny help or hurt:confused:

Any input into this matter would great!!
Thanks!!
Tony

The trans is most likey ok. Leaving the plastic bag on could only help. It keeps the dirt out plus creates a vapor barrier to help prevent condensation. I would just pull the pan and check for rust. If everything looks good, you should be ok.

mikestertwo,
Thanks for the info!! Going to go take a look at it now, and ask to see inside
