Their has to be some way to proceed without loosing the buick.

Not really. I want to keep my monte carlo( had it since high school and that I'm keeping). I figure the Buick has to go. Can't have 2 toys unfortunately

Humm, go slow or rip up the pavement, let me think on that. Ok, I'll rip up pavement.

I'm sure you and Monte had lots of good times but...I'd have to say keep the GN...Mike

I'm not going to get into the reasoning behind keeping the Monte Carlo and selling the GN. I'm sure you have your own irreversible logic behind this. I'm also assuming your a younger gentleman (hard headed) and may be difficult to convince otherwise.:)

However, when it comes to selling the GN, Lets talk for a minute. If it's the cash you need right now, then I guess you need to sell it.

Setting aside emotions and using only math to make a decision. I assure you that over time, you can build a world class Buick with less money then it will ever cost to own ANY new vehicle over the length of your lifetime.

For example. Any new car, now matter how cheap, it's insurance, maintenance, lost resale value or trade-in costs figured in, will always cost more per year than what you will put into a GN at the same given year. I have never spent in one year what my sister spends to own "new cars." And she doesn't drive high-end cars. Just your typical 3 year trade-ins, like Dodge, Chevy, Honda, house wife commuter crap. In the end I benefit from people like her. Because I'm the third owner. I drive them, kill them, and through them away.

So, if you can put it to the side, carry on as usual, get back to it later, you may be a happier guy. This will make your wife happy. And then you can sell the Monte Carlo when you realize how insignificant it is.

All valid points gentlemen. I do want to sell so I can have a comfortable down payment on a house so I can move in ASAP. I'll keep the Monte Carlo has it was a gift from my grandparents and they passed away awhile ago so it has a lot of sentimental value to me(no matter how slow the car is lol). I feel as if $15,000 or OBO for the vehicle and all the parts to repair it plus a huge inventory of NOS parts is a pretty good deal. Again I can provide all receipts of what was don by Bison and from a previous repair shop. I want to sell this vehicle prior to May, that is my goal

This changes a lot. I now easily understand your attachment.

REALLY nice GN, but IMHO, those are the ugliest wheels I think I've ever seen.

yeah i have been told that before LOL but she is the one for me and has stuck by my side think and thin. i really want to have some money to pay for the wedding and down payment for a house.
selling a car to pay for a wedding is dumb shit, selling the car to buy a house is a much smarter.
Good luck and wish you the best.

And how often can someone say they have a Rpe/bison motor in their car ?:D:smug:
id borrow the money before id let it go..

Thank you. i want to prioritize buying a house so we can move in. i know i will find another GN down the road in a few years but want the house and family first.

What's involved to put the AC/heat back in? Where are you located and how many miles are on the GN? Any rust? Pics of the door bottoms.

If he did what most do (like myself), it would be a real bitch!

It's sort of the thing you don't normally go back to.

Id beg, borrow ,hustle and work 8 days a week 25 hours a day and sell my bimmer before id let the GN go... Once all those house bills and maintainence kicks in and your wife starts talking about kids $$$ for another toy will be nonexistant... $$$$ for maintainence on a toy that you kept in the corner under a cover while you you start your new life and do adult stuff however is possible, besides the fact that throttle pedal therapy is the best way to maintain sanity while life is kicking your ass on a daily basis.... Im 36 and i have so many friends(some divorced) that are miserable cause they made the same choice you are about to right now when they were younger....... When the smoke cleared and they got the fam and the house and wifes driving a new car, no $$$$ left for a toy cause thats not responsible and they are in the stands at the track and standing on the curb at the car cruises, but hey your car you do what you want..... Your price seems very reasonable, but please for the love of boost give it some serious serious thought first........

If he just removed the box from the engine compartment and left all the duct work behind the dash then it wouldn't be so bad. But if he gutted everything behind the dash, then it would be some work to put it back....but doable.

I would keep em both. I am cheap and replacing toys isnt. I have have my GS and T both of which I had before I was married. We have bought houses, moved across the country and back and raised four children. It is doable but the cars got mothballed. I figured they weren't really costing me much just sitting. They are paid for and I am back to driving the T everyday and loving it. Now we are working on getting the GS back on the road.

Bottom line, if you want to keep both it could be done. Just have to want to. The perfect soul mate would want to keep both too(or at least mine did).
