i need to replace my rear springs and was wondering what everyone thought about replacing w/ stockers or after market? pros and cons with either of them. cost and where to get them. thanks in advance

It all depends on what youre looking for in ride quality. A stock
suspension is fine for a lot of people but if youre looking for something better than stock you could get a set of Koni's or Tokico's. There is a pretty wide range as far a selection goes but Its all in what youre looking for. And as far as where to get them, you can get them from one of your local parts stores or through Summit or Jegs.

well i am looking for springs that can ride well but, preform well. i dont care if the ride is alittle rough but, i dont want it to feel like a truck. apperance is also a must. i would like it to sit as close to stock as possable. i thought of cargo springs but, im not sure if i should get them because of when i had a 82 Cutlass supreme the previous owner had them in there and the car looked like it was jacked up in the rear the fronts were broken so it made it even worse but, thats another story. thanks

I ve had the cargo springs on four G body cars and they all rode well and sit at a normal height not all jacked up- maybe the springs that were in the 82 cutlass were not the proper springs for that car maybe out of a station wagon or something. i have them in a 86 cutlass and they re perfect.

how did the car ride and was the preformance increased? did it seem to hook better? thanks

I have kyb and perfect circle stock replacements. I have been very happy with the ride quality. The price tag wasn't too bad either.

you can get the Eibach spring kit for the G-Body cars.

they are a drop spring, i think 1 inch in front and 1.5 in back.
But if your car is older, you really wont notice a difference because the original ones are probally saggin' anyways.

Its a nice kit and at a decent price.
they have a Nice ride to them and aren't too stiff.

do a search of "eibach" and i bet you will run into some Pics of our cars with the kit installed....

you can check them out at
