Looking at getting a set of convo pro's and 11.5 x 28 x 15 et streets. What size rim and what backspacing should I get? I have already rolled my fender lips and have air bags.I did a search and everybody seems to have there own ideas....... If anyone is running this settup please let me know. Thanx all.

The 28x11.5 QT Pros on an 8" rim w 3.5" bs work ~ perfect on mine. That's about the biggest section width tire I could put on it w/o rubbing on either side, and the rim centers it about perfect in there IMO. I think the ET Streets may have a bit wider section width. IME the QT Pros seem to work better anyway.

8" wide with 3.5" backspacing should work fine with rolled fender lips. 3.75" would be about perfect, though.

If your 11.40 's or slower with the 3.42 gear still....go with a 26 tire........

I picked up at 12.0's with a 28" tire. The crossover point appears to be about 110 to 112 mph in the 1/4. If you run faster than this with a 26" tire, you will run as fast, if not faster with a 28" tire. Atleast that is from the data I've collected with a stock longblock, stock converter car. I would think a loose converter would need taller tires even sooner than this.

Russ sent me pictures of his set up a while back. He is right, it looks great. The wider 12.5 X 28 ET's fit pretty darn good with a 8" wheel with 3.5" BS. 11.5 ET's should fit as good.

I can't wait to try the 28" tires! I have always used 26" slicks, but the car runs out of motor with 200, 300 feet to go, "hold on baby we're almost there". I wish I tried them sooner, before I built the new motor. I'm not going to use the ET streets though, I'm going to get real slicks, 28x10.5 M/T
