Since I might have to pull my trans, I was thinking about getting my converter restalled and get a slightly smaller turbo. And I have to pull the turbo off to to replace to oil return line. So it will not cause extra work to do this. My thinking was I could could use the new technology turbos and make the same or more power with a smaller turbo.

Right now I have a T63E with a 3500 stall on a stock motor car with the usual bolt ons. I was thinking of going to a new 61 and get my converter restalled to 3200. But I am open to suggestions. Any input is appreciated.

What are you looking to do?

If you keep the 3500 stall and go with the 61, you will be more than happy.

If you want to keep the same stall but make more power, then step up to a GT67.

It sounds like you want to lower the stall, but you did not tell us why. If you are dead set on lowering the stall, the GT(TE)61 will work well with the 3200 stall.

I just thought with a stock motor the 3500 stall is a lilttle steep. I figured I could put the stall down to 3200 and go with the 61 or similar sized turbo. I just thought I could downsize the turbo without sacrificing power because of the new tech turbos. Or could I upgrade my current turbo?
