87 GN with delay wipers and washer. Wipers were blowing fuses as soon as I turned them on.
I ordered a used motor cover and motor from a fellow board member. I couldn't remove my whole motor assembly without removing the fender liner, so I replaced only the cover and kept my old motor. The new cover did not have a washer motor , and my old one was shot, so I'm without one now.
The wipers come on but they raise up about 3 inches and go back down again -over and over. Like when you're using the delay function and cut off the ignition(they go down below the hood). They work on high speed only. No movement on delay or low speed.
The wiper transmission seems to be ok, and the motor is spinning well, and the nut is tight that holds the tranny to the motor. Could it have something to do with my not having a washer motor in the cover?

You need someone to scan pages 8A-91-2, 8A-91-3, and 8A-91-4 of the service manual that has the diagnostic motor voltage troubleshooting information on it.

It's too big to retype/copy here.

Could be the park relay or wiper switch or wiring so you have to know the voltages on each colored wire in the two connectors with them plugged in to troubleshoot it properly.

Thanks. Is it online anywhere?

Hope this helps.

to remove the wiper motor
remove wiper arm connection
then just remove the two bushinged bolts that you can get (forget the one on bottom)
and then pull up on the unit
it will slide off the bushing on the lower mount
then wiggle it out

Damn, I cut my knuckles and both wrists trying to remove that bottom bolt. Must have spent over an hour on it. Thanks for the tip. I'm gonna swap out the wiper motors before I do all the voltage tests.

I swapped out the motor and lubed the transmission in about 45 minutes and it's fixed. My motor was bad. Thanks to all for your help!

Yes. I'll try to return the favor by trying to help someone else with a problem here on the board.
