My buddy has an 87' GN, he has a problem with his car, maybe you guys can help us out? When driving the car around cruising speeds (25-45 mph), and suddenly flooring the car, it does like a little back fire and a little hesitation. We can't seem to figure out what the problem maybe. Another weird thing is that it doesn't do it all the time. Everytime he takes it to the shop it doesn't do it. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It could be one of a hundred different things. You need to provide us with scan tool info and more info on his car before we can make any kind of educated diagnosis

I don't have any scan tool info, but I do the things that have been installed in his car. He has gotten a bigger turbo(not sure which one), injectors, chip (street program), adjustable fuel pressure, bigger fuel pump, shift kit, cat-back exhaust, down pipe, cold air intake set-up, new oxygen sensor, spark plugs to accomodate these upgrades, new coil pack and wires. Before these mods the car was stock. I think that's about it. Hope this helps.

You'd be able to locate the problem much easier with scantool info. Could be many things, but possibly fuel pressure. That's really just a shot in the dark though.

An example of a few things it could be
coil pack
module
cam sensor
MAF
O2
IAC
TPS
vacuum leak
etc etc

So rather then guess and point you in the wrong direction we would rather not point you anywhere. I would have your buddy go to www.ramchargers.com, order a Scanmaster, and learn how to read it. He might as well sell the car now if he does not want to take the time to learn how to tune it himself. because these cars chew up and spit out the guys that take them to dealers for repairs

Try unplugging the ECM power wire, removing and reinstalling the chip, and rehooking up the power wire in succession.

Do you have a F/P gauge on the car?Could be running a little lean.Try giving the regulator another 1/2-1 full turn clockwise,to raise the pressure and see if that clears up the problem.
