Howzit Everyone,

I've always admired the GN's and T-Types. Never thought that I would own one though. Always been a Chevy guy from high school and believed that the ECM was the enemy of high performance. The Monte that I drive to work is starting to get rusty and a whole bunch of GN's and T-Types started coming out in the papers so I ended up getting an 85' T-Type. I was going to put the 355 into the "T" but after driving the turbo 6 I thought "wow this is not bad". Anyway to make a long story short, after getting all the catalogs and learning about the turbo cars I decided to get an '86-'87 car if one came out. It did. Thanks Paul and John. So now I need to get rid of the '85. The car has high mileage but still runs pretty good. Trans has 30k on Kiyo's rebuild. Brand new headders and crossover from Postons. Converted to vacuum brakes right after I bought the car.Driving the car home with a dead Powermaster was not fun. Bought the car for $3500 and put another $1000 in parts. Any reasonable offers considered. If anyone is interested please reply to this post. Thanx guys.

Sounds like at great car. All it needs is my 3"DP Im selling :D

Welcome to the forums.:)

Welcome to the board Nathan, and you're welcome. I'm glad both guys are happy. I was like you in high school, everything was Chevy (except for the 9 in under my 68 Camaro). I'm still amazed at the power produced by these little 6 cylinders.:D
I see you have a good collection of toys there.;)

See you around.

Paul

Thanx for the welcome Turtle TR. I thought of keeping the car for everyday use but don't know if I can afford the insurance. If I do keep it I will let you know about the DP. Thanx again.

Hey Paul,

Thanx for the welcome and all your help. I too am truly amazed at the power of the turboed "6". The car runs great and everything else works. Hope to start putting some goodies in real soon. I am finding that Buick parts cost alot more than Chevy parts. It's a whole new world for me and so much stuff to add or change. Guess the other toys will be on the back burner for awhile......

Welcome Nathan

June 7th we will be having a race with the BSM and HFPC guys. Stop by or better yet join us in the race.

Welcome Nathan!

Sell the Monte, if you're not too attached to it. Keep the '85. Only 2100 made, compared to 20,000 + '87 GN's and T's! :)

Welcome to a real car Nathan

Don't you really love these cars.

Just cant say enough about a car that loves to eat ponies and rice except, thanks Buick!

Congratulations Nathan!

I think you should sell me that '68 427 Chevelle:D Is that John V's car you bought? Les

Thanx guys for all the welcomes. I will try to be there for the June 7th race to meet all you guys. Don't think that I can participate though as I am still in the learning process. I do want to keep the '85 as I parted out an '85 GN and sent the motor to the machine shop already to put in the "T". GN was the one at Lone Star and went to the scrap yard about a month ago. Took everything that wasn't rusted and interior was in good shape. I guess if nobody wants to take it off my hands I will try to figure out a way to keep it and use as a daily driver. Trying to sell the car on consignment at Lone Star because I needed the garage space for the '87. No takers yet. Will probably go get the car back soon if I can find space for it. Hot air daily and Intercooled on the wekends sounds like a plan..........

Hey X-Ford Man,

Yes it is John's car. Don't think I'm ready to part with the Chevelle yet though. Any suggestions on what modifications should be done first. Was thinking of getting the Scanmaster and upgrading the fuel pump, regulator, and exhaust. Hope to meet all you guys soon.

T-Type

I went to look at the car Lonestar and it's pretty nice. The interior is a little worn but the black paint looks great. Looks like a keeper to me!

Nathan,
Sounds like some good choices, if you want to knock off about two seconds on a stock motor, just add a small shot of NOS (just ask Paul how):D I was at Pacific Motoring yesterday and bought some Rejuvenate from your friends:D awesome product:cool:

Welcome Nathan!

This Robert Souza....how you been? I saw you at Daves place on my way to work last night...about 10 pm...

Hey guys,

Just when I was gonna go get the 85' "T" back I saw that they put it in the BUY&SELL. Guess I'll leave it until next week and see what happens. Yeah Les, that purple stuff works really good for bringing back the depth and shine to the paint. He (David) brings in alot of good stuff and for good price too. I saw in another post about running synthetic oil that someone wanted to try Amsoil but couldn't find a local distributor. Pacific Motoring has it and he can get whatever weight needed. Good people and good products.
Robert, good to hear from you. Think the last time I saw you was at the Toys for Tots a couple years ago. I don't see that white '70 SS El Camino around Sand Island anymore. I think the guy used to work at the treatment plant?? Still love them Caminos......
