Okay so im new to turbos and have a question...I have a stock turbo and need a downpipe, Are the stock turbos internally wasstegated? if I get a downpipe with an external wastegate will that hurt anything...Again im new to this and if you answer this 100 times a day im sorry for being 101

Yes the stock downpipe and elbow assembly has puck in it. It is considered an internal wastegate system. If you buy an extermal style downpipe you will need the wastegate and a boost control knob or electric control system.

What are you looking to replace and why. This will help in pointing you in the right direction.

I just had a motor built and out of all the parts I got, no luck getting the downpipe. Its pretty much a stock build as this will be my daily driver and as i said before im running the stock turbo. I look on the normal websites and I see for the most part its either externally wastegated downpipes or downpipes with no provisions for a wastegate. Im assuming that the DP with no provisions is for wastegates mounted on the headers. What do you suggest

Get a 3" internally gated DP, most of the GN Vendors carry this bolt on DP. I see ZERO benefit in a stock turbo running an external wastegate, save your $.

If you decide to get a larger turbo down the road you're all set with the 3" internally gated DP and just bolt it on.
