Well after many years of racing Fords(Mustangs and Lightnings), I sold my Lightning and just this evening picked up my first GM since my '69 Camaro in High School. I've attached a few links to pics, as you will see she's a stocker. Just turned 44,000 on the odometer, and there has never been a modification, and the car is in absolutely mint condition(The tires need to go, I know). I am now trying to decide if I want to keep it completely stock to sell this summer or modify it and race it. Can anyone tell me what they think its worth on the going market?

WoW

It looks like you have found the car we all dream about (meaning, a MINT stock TR with good paint and low miles.) :)

It value? dhauser would be able to tell you better than I....Of course, he's want to see the inside too.

Get over to www.GNTTYPE.org and read, read, read -Get a scan tool before you change anything.

Looks like a great car

Thanks for the compliments. I am the third owner, the original owner worked from GM and put 41K miles on it and kept it in perfect condition, the second owner only drove it on weekends and to car shows he put the next 3K on it. The interior is absolutely perfect, I haven't found a single problem. I'd like to hear what dhauser has to say.

I've read quite a bit, any scan tool better than the other? Thanks!

holy crap that's nice

I'd say the current market makes it worth $500. I have the cash on hand if you're selling :D

Maybe $700, Take Paypal? :)

Your best bet is too look around and see what others are selling for.

It is a nice looking car

So do you guys think in the 11,500 to 13,000 range would be good? I've seen similar milage GN's that are not in as good of condition go for 14-15K on Ebay. Maybe I will have to see what Ebay will bring.

Car looks clean and welcome!

Very nice car!!

From the window sticker, it looks like it's missing one crucial option.........G80 (posi rear). Other than that, it is nicely equipped.

Looks like the "T" emblems are a little too low on the fenders.

I know this car. It's from Fort Wayne, right? The previous owner had been trying to sell it for the longest time, including on the various boards. I remember what he was asking, and I remember what he was willing to sell it to me for. I'll bet it's about the same as what you paid. I also believe what you paid is what it's worth.

For whatever reason, the 87 T's in particular just aren't as strong in the marketplace as the GNs, or even the 86 Ttypes. The point is arguable of course, but given the number of cars I look at regularly, that is my opinion. They don't carry the "mythological" aspect of the GNs.

I was always interested in this car, but I could never pull the trigger because I know they are harder to sell. I probably should've though. I knew it was a nice car. Good luck, whatever you decide to do, and give me an email if you have other questions.:D

What does it matter what we think its worth? Are you going to sell it?

As long as you are happy with it it does not matter

Buick guys will always think its worth more than Joe Shmoe off the street, thats why they are tough to sell

Yep, I am going to sell, or I will possibly trade for a modded 87. I don't want to dump the money into this one, being that it is in perfect condition. I would rather buy one that has already been modded and has a few more miles on it and save some money. I would never get the money that I spend on mod's back out of it!

In that case dhauser is the man to talk to, he has priced more TR's than all of us put together.

I say 10-12k for what my opinion is worth. If it was a GN probably 12-14k. I would try eBay, it only costs $40
