Debating betwween a Tahoe or new Durango.

I have had great experiences owning GM and Chrysler so it's a toss up there.

The 5.3 vortec is a slug compared to the Hemi - point Durango

Neither truck visually impresses me - draw

Durango has a nicer interior - point Durango

Durango will tow considerably more - point Durango

Cargo capacity is comparable - draw

Pricec are comparable - draw

Has anyone bought a new Durango, if so what do you think.

Brand bias guys, please spare the horror stories of your uncle's - nephew's brother's '84 Omni that spontaneously burst into flames with 100 miles on it. Likewise on the Vega, Chevette stories etc. Looking for objective opinions.

i don't own one but i'd say Durango..hands down
there are too many tahoes out there
i've looked at some durangos and they seem to be much nicer inside

my new patrol car will be durango.. I have seen/driven the one we do have very very nice.. go with the durango

I should be biased because I am going to an all-GM school. However, I do work at a Chevy/Chrysler/Dodge dealer on a co-op program. I never liked the exterior styling as much on the Durango. They started to grow on me after a while. Nice interior, though. The Tahoe, when it's fully optioned isn't bad either. Pricewise, the Durango is definitely more. The Tahoe doesn't lack power. It's got plenty. The only thing you have to worry about is the piston slap issues with the Tahoe. Oh and fuel problems too. The Durangos are too new to have any problems yet. So far, I'd go with the Durango. But I like the Tahoe too.

Personally, I love the Tahoe/Yukon compared to the Durango. The Tahoe/Yukon, while not fast, are still quick. But a Hemi equipped Durango would take that one.
Durango rides very very nice. It doesnt feel like a huge SUV at all, very soft and comfortable, not spongy. The AWD sucks balls in the snow, its terrible. The Tahoe/Yukon do well there.
As far as gas, Tahoe/Yukon's arent great but not horrible. The Durango on the other hand...... The non-Hemi ones I've driven have all time AWD and get between 10-15 mpg. Add the gas tank which I think is around 30 gallons....its like a $40-$50 fill-up.
Overall I like em both, but if I was gonna pick one it'd be a decked out Yukon:cool:
